Introducing Garrison Hill!

Garrison Sanders Hill was born on May 17. He was 8 lb. 6 oz. and 20.5 inches long. We finally came home from the hospital Tuesday night. It should have been Tuesday morning, but his doctor heard a heart murmur when he was checking him Tuesday morning. He wanted him to have an echocardiogram which is an ultrasound to look at the heart. The neonatologist did find a hole in his heart, but said it was small enough it should close up on its own. Garrison is also jaundice, so he is on bili lights for a few days.
Other than the lights, Garrison is doing really well. The first night home was a little rough, but he is sleeping better. Grandma just can't hold him enough.
We got another surprise while we were in the hospital. Garrison got a new little cousin the day after he was born. Jared's sister delivered a little girl on Sunday.
This is their first playdate.

Dallin

So, Dallin turned 2 last Saturday. I just wanted to show you guys my favorite picture from that day.
He can't do 2 fingers on one hand yet, so it's one on each. Anyway, it looks like he won something in this one. It makes me laugh a little. That's his cake on the bottom. If you can't tell, it's an excavator. He thought it was pretty cool!

Sydney's Dance Recital

So, yesterday was Sydney's birthday and she had her end of the year dance recital. I was worried that she wouldn't dance because at her Christmas performance she freaked out. Her Christmas performance was in class. They just invited all the parents to come watch. She danced the first song and didn't dance the rest. She messed up and got embarrassed. It was kind of sad. So, I thought last night could be a repeat. It wasn't. She did so well and she was definitely the cutest one up on stage. Before it all started her teacher had her and another girl come out so we could sing Happy Birthday to them. The other girl's brother came out playing the bag pipes as an embarrassing birthday surprise for her. Sydney didn't know what to think. Later I asked her what she thought of it. All she said was, "He was wearing a skirt!"
After the recital we came back and had cake and ice cream. Sydney wanted a flip flop cake that we saw in a magazine. Mine didn't turn out quite like the picture, but she thought it was cool and that's what matters.
