Matz Fam

Sheri emailed this to me. She sent another of just the girls but for some reason I can't save it to my computer. Sorry. Aren't they a fun looking family!

Here's some lovely pics!

Aren't they the saddest looking kids you've ever seen? They all look a lot better today. Sydney's the only one that still looks bad.

Guess what we got for Christmas!

We have pink eye going through our house! When we got home from dinner on Christmas Eve Dallin had some boogies in one eye. Jared thought Dallin rubbed some snot up into his eye at first. A few minutes later he realized it is coming out of his eye. Dallin woke up Christmas morning and couldn't open his eyes. They were crusted over and swollen. We had to get him in the shower to soften it up and get his eyes open. So miserable! We called Dr. Lytle and asked him what we should do. He said to put a warm washcloth on it and if it gets worse bring him in to the clinic on Friday. Well, Friday Dallin woke up and his eyes looked so much better, so we didn't take him in. Later in the afternoon his eyes started gooping up again. We got them cleared out and Jared decided he shouldn't go ice fishing in the morning in case we need to take Dallin in to the clinic. We ended up taking him in and getting some eye drops. Dr. Hogenson gave us a refill in case anybody else gets it. We decided Jared would take Sydney to sacrament today and she would stay for primary. Jared came home after sacrament meeting so I could go teach Primary. I got a video for my class. It was the quietest they have ever been. When we were on our way to singing time Sydney came up to me in the hall on her way to class. She had a goopy eye! Great. We came home and got some drops in it. Then Garrison went down for a nap and woke up. Jared brought him into me and showed me his eye. More goop and more drops! Thank goodness we can get them refilled because we are going to need it! Hopefully Jared and I won't get it. Hogenson said usually the parent taking care of the child gets it too. It's so contagious. Jared took care of Dallin for the most part. We've both been taking care of Sydney and I take care of Garrison. We're bound to get it. Hope you don't!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. Hope we all take the time to be thankful for everything we have (our homes, our family, food on the table, the gospel.) May we take the time to thank our Heavenly Father for everything we have. Have a great day. :)

If you like to read...

I just finished a book called These is my Words. It's a fictional journal about a girl in the western territories just before the 1900's. It was pretty good. Thank goodness we didn't live back then! I couldn't bury my kids while traveling and shoot Indians and go through all the sicknesses without modern medicine. Good read.

What I ate for dinner!

I had a glass of chocolate milk and a chimichanga from costco.

Please post something to the blog

because we don't want it to be all about me, do we? (You know who you are) I have invited all of you to be authors, except Mike because I don't have his email address, so Mike or somebody get it to me. Thanks. So, you do have to set up a google account, but you don't have to use that email for anything else if you don't want to. It won't get spammed or anything. It's just for logging on to OUR FAMILY blog (not mine, our's). It's not hard to post anything. When you log on the dashboard should come up. It gives you options. You do the posting one and "create" a post. Then you can type up anything you want. Please do this! It really is fun to hear about each other. I know you all look at this and want to see something new. You know you can post things in the comments below the post also. Anyways, get posting something! I don't care if it's what you ate for dinner.

It was fun to go down and see Mel and her fam. It was good to see Gramp and Gram. Gram was in really good spirits. She loved on Garrison. Gramp was doing pretty well as long as he wasn't talking about Gram or Jean.

Excitement in Payson!

Here's what we had going on this weekend...

That's the view from our front lawn Friday night. The mountain south of us was on fire and the neighborhood south of us and some of the people from our ward east of us and up Payson Canyon were evacuated. If the fire would have come closer we would have been evacuated also. They closed off our neighborhood. Yesterday morning the fire was pretty much out. The mountain was charred and the other side was still burning. This is from yesterday. This chopper was filling up just behind our neighbor's across the street. There's a pressurized irrigation pond behind their house. The helicoptor would come fill up and go dump it on the mountain. It was pretty good entertainment for a while.
